Dial Up Connections
Using the Dragonnet VPOP we can provide connections to
the Internet by a simple call from any type of modem. The
number dialled as an 0845 which mean that calls are charge
at UK local call rates and are available from most UK landlines.
We provide separate numbers for ISDN and special modem types
which reduces the length of time it takes to make a call.
We can also provide London (0207) numbers as alternatives
if you require to connect either internationally or to use
a free call allowance.
The dial up connections can be multilinked to provide additional
bandwidth and can also be supplied with a fixed IP address
for firewall traversal.
Broadband
Dragonnet provide all types of Broadband connections
from highly contended 512kbs connections to the 8mbs
business connections with very low contentions (some as low as 1:1). All of our DSL connections are terminated
at Telehouse in London and are directly connected either
to a large Internet pipe or routed to the Slough datacenter
where the dial up VPOP is situated. This means that VPN
connections between DSL's or DSL's and Dial UP connections of ours
as well as connections to server's co-hosted at the Slough
Datacenter do not have to traverse the Internet for connection
and remain within either the BT internal network or our own systems.
All of our DSL connections are provided with routers we
manage ourselves and are available with wireless connections
and ISDN fall back if required.
Where high speed is required however the distance from the exchange prevents high speed we can multiplex ADSL connections to give greater perfomance.
Surftime Connections
Where it is not possible to utilize Broadband for
data connection we use ISDN lines with the BT Surftime packages
to provide low cost high availability connections. We can
provide these surftime connections with fixed IP addresses
and multilinked ISDN to give 128kbs near full time connections.
Managed Connections
Any semi permanent connection to the Internet, be it Broadband
or Surftime exposes a companies system to constant attack
from the outside (it's a wild place out there). Dragonnet
strongly recommend the use of a dedicated and substantial
firewall to protect your internal systems and to provide
controlled access to them for legitimate purposes. For this
reason the majority of our connections are provided as a
package which included the connections itself, Internet
services (web hosting, email etc;) a dedicated router and
a fully managed firewall which we maintain and update for
you.
I-Pass
There is little more frustrating then being away from the
UK and being unable to connect to the Internet with 'real'
connection to receive email and communicate with your companies'
network. We proved I-Pass connections which permit you to
automatically connect to the Internet from anywhere in the
world, normally at local call rates and sometimes from free
phone numbers. This means that there is never an issue in
sending or receiving that important email
Web Email Browsing
Dragonnet provides a full web based email client so it
is simple to collect and send email from any computer that
is connected to the Internet. This service is part of our
standard email package.
PPP and Frame Relay Connections.
We can also provide dedicated, high speed connections to
either the Internet or between any two fixed points for
network support. This could be used to permit high speed
Internet access in areas where ADSL is not available or
where high availability 24/7 service is required (although
we would recommend the use of our server co-hosting facility
for this application)
Providing a TCP/IP link between two fixed points over a
dedicated link means that the two (or more) locations can
act a single network making it possible for physically remote
offices to act a s a single system. This link can also be
used for telephone connections using 'voice over IP' and
voice compression to allow a companies telephone system
to extend over the dedicated link to remote offices (Dragonnet
also provided the systems and equipment to make this happen)
